We do knowKE6OG's family has a tight budget due to KE6OG's inability to work, his health of his aging wife and having college age kids. SPARC is still willing to make a donation but will not compromise BB's set criteria to get KE6OG the needed rehab treatment first before monetary amounts are given. SPARC feels KE6OG if not on drugs and not suffering from a distinct personality disorder could be a positive influence on the operation of the 435 repeater. If KE6OG goes into rehab and gets a correct mental diagnosis and treatment plan, SPARC will make a donation as we feel this will be a positive direction for 435. When SPARC was called callous for not making an open donation we ask this question to the 435 user base. "Do any of you make an open high dollar contribution to the RJI/YDO fund?" If you feel the Martin brothers should use donation money for positive reasons, why should KE6OG's situation be any different? SPARC is compassionate but logical to donate our money that would be best used to promote the hobby of Ham radio and in the spirit of empathy.
