Comments: I love to lie that I never jam but the reality is that I am one of the biggest jammers in SoCal. I now go so far as to jam all night long on the W6CDW repeater. Hams can no longer use low power stations or handhelds and are forced to use high power and directional repeaters to key up on 144.895 My technique is one I still hit 435 and SPARC with: a modest strength carrier a bit off the center of the input frequency, with no PL and overmodulated with a 2kHz tone. I use a loaner IFR to generate the jamming signal. Signals that are of lesser signal strength cannot key the repeater. Signals of slightly greater strength will have a brief tail of 2KHz tone at unkeying but will have difficulty holding the squelch open Strong signals will completely overcome the jamming. My cute jamming signal has been heard by users of W6CDW but they are too stupid or drunk to put 2 and 2 together. Many of them have left to use other repeaters.
